Meet our instructors:

Sylvain LeBlond, French Instructor, is a native of Paris, France. He has taught French for several years. He teaches and tutors French at Shoreline Community College. He has an A.S. degree in Sports and Event Marketing from Shoreline Community College. He brings an enthusiasm for the language that will inspire any student.

Heather Fairbank, Spanish Instructor, has a vast background in Spanish with native fluency. She has lived in rural Nicaragua working on a coffee farm. She has been a volunteer teacher in Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia building education programs in needy areas. She graduated from Seattle University with a B.A. in Spanish and a Masters in Teaching. She will not only motivate students to learn the language, but will help them to become global citizens who make a difference.

Hank Vu, Vietnamese Instructor, is a native speaker from Vietnam. He is a Mechanical and Structural Engineer with Boeing. During his over 20 years as an engineer, he has also worked to promote and preserve the Vietnamese language among heritage speakers. He has taught both Vietnamese and English as a Second Language. He graduated from Stanford University with an M.S. in Engineering. He also has two bachelors degrees, a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a B.S. in Agricultural Sciences from California State University of Fresno. He brings a great passion to teaching with his wealth of knowledge of the Vietnamese language, history, and culture. He will help high school students prepare and take a language competency test which will give students high school credit for Vietnamese.
