Dear Friends of the Gene Nastri School:
We are moving at the end of March! Utility and maintenance costs have become prohibitive at our current building, with its old baseboard heaters, wiring issues and lack of insulation. Also, we are not fully utilizing the space. Starting in April, in-person lessons will be located in classroom space shared with Pointe of Grace Lutheran Church at 5425 Harbour Pointe Blvd in Mukilteo. Many nonprofits like us are collaborating with other nonprofits to cut costs by sharing space and other resources. At Pointe of Grace church, we can use up to 3 roomy classrooms with windows, one of which already has a piano. The spacious foyer/narthex has seating, and there is plenty of parking in front of the building. The location is also ideal - within walking distance of 3 or 4 schools and a bus stop all on Harbour Pointe Blvd. The sanctuary/worship space, with a grand piano, will be excellent for student recitals too.
Please note on your calendar that we will be holding a moving sale on Saturday March 26, from 9 AM to 2 PM at our 8616 Mukilteo Speedway location. We’ll have many items available, from instruments, including pianos and strings, music posters, music, stands, lamps, office equipment (2 multi-function printers, desk and file cabinets), furniture (chairs, table, bookcases), a ladder, foam insulating panels, a Honda mower, a Winix HEPA air purifier, and a 29-volume set of the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians. After the move, we will no longer have a dedicated office space, and will prefer online payments, which can be made on our website at https://www.genenastrischool.org/about-lessons.html. The new payment link allows you to choose lesson length, as well as the number of lessons your student will take that month, between 2 and 5. Tuition for all lessons scheduled in a month must be paid for by the 10th of each month. We have scholarships available! If you think you may qualify for tuition assistance, please send us an email at office@genenastrischool.org.
