GENE NASTRI COMMUNITY SCHOOL OF THE ARTS
We serve students of all ages and levels! Private lessons are available throughout the year. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, all of our teachers are now online. Please call, email, or submit our contact form to be connected to a teacher. We hope to offer workshops and group classes again Summer 2021.
Statement on Anti-Racism
As a community music school committed to equal access and opportunity for all students, we stand in solidarity with our black brothers and sisters to denounce the unjust and racist killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and countless others. We mourn for the many black Americans who have been targeted victims of violence and racial discrimination. We commit ourselves to addressing the inequities and biases in music education that disproportionately affect students of color. We realize this involves more than just making a statement, but involves examining our values and priorities as a school. Our goal is to ensure that every child has equal access to the benefits of music instruction. Music can bridge divides and unite people. As a community, we can also be inspired by the many artists of color who have led change and advocated for a more just and empathetic world, and commit to music being a medium for social transformation.
